近年來已有三次諾貝爾獎頒發給線蟲研究成果,因而在研究生物醫學基本問題上,線蟲已成為一個主要模式生物。本課程將從遺傳學觀點,提供背景知識,並討論如何運用線蟲的強大基因篩選方式來研究人類疾病機制,提供新的治療策略。課程中有數次實驗室實作課程,讓學生親自體驗基本線蟲實驗。 In recent year, C. elegans has become a major model system to study fundamental biomedical issues since three nematode research projects were awarded by the Nobel Prizes. This course will provide background lectures on C. elegans, and discuss some specific topics in translational medicine. Moreover, there are several days to practice the basic nematode experiments in a lab.
