How does the human mind work? This is a fascinating topic attracting intellectuals from different disciplines. Through this course, students can have a general idea of how contemporary mainstream psychologists investigate this issue. More importantly, it is expected that students can learn now to view and interpret human behaviors from an objective and logical perspective.
This course will be lectured and administered ALL in English. Students must have an adequate level of English listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

Exams 70% Midterm exam and final exam (35% for each) Research Project (Class discussion 15%; Oral presentation or Research report:15%) Students must choose one research topic among the five: 1. Sexuality is determined by nature or nurture? 2. Do we have free will? It's the environment that determines who I am, or the nervous system that determines who I am, or it's "I" that determines who I am. 3. Is there a critical period of language acquisition? 4. Is intelligence determined by nature or nurture? 5.Why do we dream? Students must survey literature on their own, discuss with other team members. At the end of the semester, each group should give a oral presentation and research report.
