低功耗設計是近來非常受重視的議題。在能源、散熱、製程尺寸、可靠度、甚至於環保的考慮上,均極為重要。本課程中,我們將研讀數位系統低功耗設計技術,內容涵蓋MOS電路、邏輯、計算機組織、功能單元、管線處理、匯流排規約、記憶體子系統、編譯器、作業系統、虛擬機、低功耗編程、低功耗計算機系統等的相關設計。課程內並均將各領域的基礎知識作一簡介及複習。
計算機概論或組織、數位系統設計、計算機運作原理等相關知識

本課程約14週以課堂講解及考試的方式進行,其餘時數為學生專題研究及報告。課堂講解以投影片的方式進行。學生專題應以二至三人為一組分組進行,專題方向可為系列論文之研讀、功能設計、或理論驗證及實作等。
兩次筆試及分組學期專題,各佔學期成績的1/3。
