本課程為生物科技學院「實驗動物模式模組化課程」之一,將介紹常見實驗動物(包括囓齒類、兔形目、貓、狗、有蹄類、非人類靈長類等),在解剖、生理、遺傳、行為等方面的特性,讓學生對於個別實驗動物的命名、飼養、管理、環境等要求及相關規範有基本認識,並瞭解這些實驗動物在科學領域的應用及對人類的貢獻。而提供實驗動物穩定的生活環境以及優良的獸醫照護(動物運送、隔離、臨床觀察、健康監測等),對於確保動物實驗品質、增進動物福祉、與對動物實驗的影響層面也是本課程的重點,期望在具備這些知識後,能幫助學生建立面對實驗動物的正確態度及觀念,藉以將動物實驗的誤差減到最小。
不限,歡迎對實驗動物有興趣、或將來可能進行動物實驗的同學選修。
