What does a good oral presentation and poster presentation even look like? What makes a good topic? During class: ‧ In small groups and as a class, we will review some presentations (with ppts) and posters and discuss what makes them good and where they can improve. ‧ Students will work, in groups, on selecting and defining their topic ‧ Seminar II students will sign up for presentations

What is my story? – Crafting a compelling story about the research During class: ‧ Students will create a story board for the presentation, and share with the group ‧ Seminar II student presentation of a ppt

How do I get a proposal accepted?– Identifying an appropriate academic conference During class ‧ Students will identify potential conferences and then share with a group ‧ In a small group, discuss feedback on an example of a conference proposal, then present strengths/weaknesses to larger class. ‧ Seminar II student presentation
