The use of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites is being increased in the field of Civil Engineering due to its well-known advantages such as high ratio of strength to weight and no corrosion. Through this course, students will have knowledge of mechanics of FRP composite materials and learn how to design FRP composites.

1. Homework and Assignments: Homework and reports have to be submitted by the specified due date. For a delay of every single day, 10% of the total points will be deducted. No homework and assignments will be accepted after one week from the due date except for a very unusual situation. If you have such an unusual situation, you should contact the instructor ahead of time. 2. Exams and Quizzes: Midterm exam: 30% for each Final exam: 30% 3. Evaluation and Grading Policy Attitude & attendance: 10%
Experimental study on FRP composites
Fabrication of wood beams strengthened with FRP composites using wet lay-up method; Test of FRP- strengthened beam specimens; Analysis of structural behavior of FRP-strengthened beams
