本課程的主題將圍繞在描述脊椎動物的生活,介紹脊椎動物各主要類群在解剖形態、生理功能、生態環境、與行為習性,以及強調這些特徵在構造與功能上的交互作用,如何使生物體於其生活環境中進行有效率的運作,同時闡述各別主要類群隨著演化時程的進展,於解剖、生理、生態、及行為學上的變化。本課程之預期目標如下: 1. 熟知脊椎動物的主要類群; 2. 明暸脊椎動物各類群的基本型態; 3. 了解脊椎動物各類群的分類特徵; 4. 學習脊椎動物的各主要類群的生態及其地理分佈。
