The purpose of this course is to understand microwave systems starting from their applications to system design. First of all, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) has to be carefully defined to ensure the signal quality of a communication system or a radar system. Moreover, the method for link budget calculation will be taught by taking into account the gain and loss of each component and circuit., as well as the losses in transmission lines. Additionally, the system-level simulation considering the non-ideal characteristics of every component is inevitable and will be introduced in this course.
