Ecology and evolution are closely related because organism’s ecological situation directs its evolution, and the organism’s response to its ecological condition may be evolutionary. This course will introduce the fundamental concepts and theories in ecology and evolution. The included topics aim to provide students a good understanding of how living organisms interact with their environments contemporarily and evolutionarily. How the processes and mechanisms of ecological or evolutionary adaptation in organisms can be described and explained through an integration of knowledge in molecular and population biology.
