The goals of this course are (1) to provide students with an understanding of the common tools that are used in research in the fields of health promotion, diseases and gerontology; (2) to understand the reliability, merit and weakness of assessment tools; (3) to have the ability to select appropriate assessment tools based on individuals’ fitness levels, fields of testing and resources. The main contents of the course include: (1) outcome assessments related to health promotion, (2) comprehensive geriatric assessment tools and multidimensional long-term care need assessments and (3) markers of sarcopenia.
