本課程討論近代音樂學術圈中,與浪漫時期中、後期的音樂相關,常有爭議性的議題。這些議題建立在本時期重要的曲目上,將幫助我們對於這些曲目、其創作者的的風格、表演者的技巧、觀眾聆聽音樂的心態,與當代的美學觀,有更深刻、且更具批判性的認識。 This course focuses on significant and controversial issues in the recent scholarship of mid-late 19th-century European music, issues that will offer a critical approach of the music, including its creators, style, performers, performance practice and audience in this era. This focus is intended to help students develop independent and critical judgment on these issues, to strengthen their research and academic writing skills, and to sustain these skills with the aid of their performance background.
This is a course for graduate, music majors. Those who are undergraduates or non-music majors are recommended to talk to the course instructor first to determine whether the course contents are too demanding.
