概述

課程概述與目標: (中) 海洋能源充滿濳能,甚至可能足以提供人類所需的全部電力。但是,目前只有很小一部分的海洋再生能源已被開發利用,絕大部分是海上風能。目前,世界各國對海洋可再生能源科技的發展越來越感興趣,有許多政府和產業資助的研究發展計畫。本課程將介紹主要的海洋再生能源,包括海上風能,波浪能,潮汐和海流能。希望幫助學生理解這些海洋再生能源科技的設計和操作的基本理論,當前的挑戰和發展潛能。 (Eng.) The oceans have a tremendous amount of energy that could potentially meet all the world’s demand for electricity. However, only a tiny fraction of this potential has been realized, mainly contributed by the offshore wind. Currently, there is a growing interest in the development of the marine renewable energy technologies with many government-funded R&D and industrial commercial projects being developed around the world. This course is to give an overview of the most promising marine renewable energies, namely offshore wind, wave, and tidal/ocean current. The course provides key aspects of each technology and environment to be able to understand the design and operation of these generating sources, challenges, and opportunities.

Students will complete several individual and group activities throughout the semester. The group project will consist of one major project, including a final report, and an oral presentation, as well as a peer evaluation for your participation on the project.

1. 學期作業 Homework is assigned after the lectures and is due 12:00 PM Tuesday before the next class. No late work will be accepted. 2. 考試狀況 None 3. 評量方法 Class Participation:20% Homework:35% Lead Discussion:15% Report and Presentation:30% • Midterm project presentation and progress report(10%) • Final project presentation and final report(20%)
