概述

This is a graduate level course. This course will introduce basic exposition methods in English academic writing through helping students develop writing skills while avoiding common writing mistakes. The course will introduce the essential exposition points for writing various essay types (narrative essays, descriptive essays, cause and effect essays, and process essays). This course will include lecturing, reading sample texts, writing practice, peer discussion of writing, and oral presentations. Students will practice writing full essays in English and share their writing with the whole class.

This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the basic forms and types of English academic essays as well as offering opportunities in practicing English writing skills.
