水文學為土木工程中一跨學門的重要學科,主要乃在探討水的發生、循環、分佈等特性。本課程之目的為經由各種假設及分析以了解水文學之基本概念及其在水利工程上之重要性,包括水文循環過程中之基本物理機制、降雨-逕流分析、水文頻率分析及洪水演算等介紹,並進而能進行水文模擬及預測,以期能正確推估某一地區之水資源,瞭解工程設施所面臨的風險,作為水資源工程設計及災害防治之參考,課程中將包含電腦模式的學習。
