Technical English is an integrated four-skill (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) EFL curriculum with a focus on EST (English for Science and Technology). This course aims to help students acquire a better command of EST reading and writing, and gain confidence in oral communications in their related academic fields. The topics of this course are divided into three parts: (1) Career and professional identity, (2) Invention and patents, and (3) Research and technical reports. Throughout the semester, we will read and discuss a wide range of authentic materials in each part with the support of textbook-based exercises, hands-on assignments, classroom activities, writing projects, and presentations.
