This course focuses on the design and implementation of biological database systems, it also discusses contemporary concepts and approaches about web interface design for database access and data management. We start from the different natures of biological data, information and knowledge, then study suitable methods and tools for storing and accessing them. Topics such as database management system (DBMS), structured query language (SQL), database design, data warehousing, web programming for accessing database, knowledge mining and management, and big data analytics for biomedical applications are covered.
