Course outline: This is an introductory course in Linear Algebra with emphasis on basic knowledge and concepts. Course objectives: Solve the linear equation Ax=b by Gaussian elimination and Gaussian-Jordan elimination. Proof the properties of matrices and determinants and use them in solving problems. Describe and explain vector spaces: basis, dimension, change of basis, and solve linear equations. Apply eigendecomposition and singular vector decomposition and differentiate their strengths. Formulate a real-world problem as a linear algebra problem and evaluate the performance of the linear algebra solution.
High-school level mathematics and understanding in vector, matrix, and linear equations.

1) All registered and waitlisted students must attend the first class on September 13, 2023, at 10:10 AM. Students who do not attend the first class may be withdrawn as 'no-shows.' 2) Limited additional enrollments will be available at the end of the first class. 3) Lectures, quizzes, and presentations will take place in the physical classroom EC115. 4) Additional lectures will be delivered via pre-recorded videos. 5) Non-attendance in class may result in grade deductions.
Attendance: 10% Assignment (Homework): 30% Quiz: 30% Project: 30%
