This course provides students with a theoretical and hands-on understanding of the major concepts, theories, issues, and practices in creativity and new product development. The topics covered are defining creativity and innovation, creative mindsets, creative and innovation processes, creative problem-solving, using creativity tools, design thinking, and new product development. The course also seeks to strengthen students' skills in creative thinking, critical analysis, problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication in the business context. Upon completing this course, students will be able to: • Define creativity and innovation and distinguish their differences. • Explain the main theories about creativity and its cultivation. • Illustrate the creative and innovation processes. • Apply appropriate creativity tools for problem-solving. • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary students and develop a creative solution that solves real problems. The course includes lectures, in-class discussions and exercises, games, field visits, learning reflections, readings, presentations, and project writing.
