The field of statistics deals with the collection, presentation, analysis, and use of data to 1) Make decisions; 2) Solve problems; 3) Design products and processes. Statistics is also an inherently necessary component of data science. After taking this class, students will be able to: 1. Define statistics and its importance in data analysis 2. Utilize statistical methods to explore and interpret data 3. Communicate analysis results effectively through visualizations and summaries 4. Apply statistical techniques to solve practical problems with diverse datasets 5. Employ software tools for statistical analysis and data visualization
