This course aims to help students to understand recent theoretical frameworks and practical issues in innovation systems and technology commercialization. Innovation and innovation systems have become key concepts in the context of developing high-tech sectors and knowledge based economies. The course aims to give students a thorough knowledge of where innovation takes place, how to organize it, and how technology policy can be used to enhance knowledge transfer, technology commercialization, and entrepreneurship. This course will begin with introducing the theoretical frameworks and recent literature about systems of innovation. The course instructor will introduce concepts, issues, literature, and cases in innovation system studies. This course focuses on the challenges associated with managing a emerging firm's resource capabilities for long-term competitive advantage. The theme of the courses cover methods to innovate, design , assess, and improve technological commercialization for emerging enterprises. Through participating this class, students will learn transferable research skills which can be applied in their research papers, thesis, dissertation, and future practice of technology management. The working language of this class will be English.
