This course aims to build a core knowledge system of artificial intelligence (AI) for students majoring in the medical field, with a focus on its potential applications in modern medicine. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Explain fundamental AI concepts and their historical development, emphasizing their relevance to medical applications. 2. Differentiate between key AI methodologies (e.g., machine learning, deep learning, NLP) and evaluate their suitability for different types of biomedical data. 3. Implement foundational AI models using Python to process, analyze, and visualize clinical datasets. 4. Design and propose an innovative AI application that addresses a specific clinical or biomedical challenge. 5. Articulate the capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations of an AI medical application to both technical and clinical audiences.
