provide the basics of the geometrical optics and understand the role of geometrical optics in optical instruments and physical system.Beside the basic knowledge, try to use optical software to understand basic optical theorem.

midterm (10%), final (10%), project (60%), homework (20%) Homework will be given to apply the principles in real situations. Projects will be given to students to practice the ray tracing program. In this class, teacher will assign homework every week. There are two time without finishing homework , the student will not pass this class. If you have no interesting about geometrical optics or optical desgin , please consider to withdraw this class
