This course wishes to integrate Virology and Biotechnology through a "inspiration, hands-on validation, and proposal output" framework. It transitions from theory (known knowledge or application) to lab practice, focusing on viral vector construction and cell transfection. Students will utilize several tools, including AI, to formulate research hypotheses and engage in PBL-based learning. Ultimately, students will propose a Research Proposal for their possible Research or Product plan either for academic or industry. The attended students need to be sure that some extra time schedule might be necessary for the pratical experiment. The exacted time will be discussed during the lecture, according to the organized experiment we have discussed during the class.
Knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology, and virology.

1. Will have lecture time and might perform experiment. Please notice that many cell-based experiment usually required multiple days (continuous days). 2. This lecture involves experiments. Due to the limitation of the cell culture hoods, the maximun student number might be limited. 3. For students who wish to attend, you should finish the BSL1 training offered by the university and better also BSL2 training.
The course utilizes a process-oriented assessment focusing on practical skills and research planning: 1. Lab Practice & Reports (30% - Individual): Will focuses on lab documentation and troubleshooting failed experiments. 2. Research Proposal (70% - Group): Submission of a formal proposal based on original, inspiration, or assigned topics. Evaluated on hypothesis innovation, feasibility, and logic, and important, the presentation. 3. Discussion & Contribution (Weighted in Item 2): Based on PBL participation and group collaboration. A peer contribution form is required for fair grading.
