Course Objectives: At the completion of this course, you will be able to, 1. Have the basic concepts of pollutants in environmental health, 2. Understand the emerging issue of environmental pollutants and their impacts on human health, 3. Describe principles of newly developed methods for exposure assessment, health risk assessment, toxicology, and all related topics on environmental health.
Target Audience and Course Format: PhD students who have fundamental concept of environmental health are encouraged to take this course. We will cover the major domain of environmental topics related to human health. The course will be lecture-based, and students need to finished 3 homework and take a final exam.

4. Class Participation (20%) An active participation is encouraged throughout the courses. Students’ participation is an important component for the class and will be accounted for 20 % of overall performance. A 10-min late is regard as a class absence, and no more than THREE absences of class is allowed (including sick leave but not including mental health leave). Students with more than THREE absences will be failed in this class (grade score = D). 5. Homework Assignments (30%) There will 3 homework distributed in the course (10 % for each). A series of required papers and readings will be assigned 2 weeks prior to the class. Students need to prepare ALL items on the question sheet and make a 5-min presentation for each question in the class. The grading will be primarily based on students’ slide preparation and in-class responses. 6. Final Exam (50%) An in-class and paper-based written examination will be utilized to evaluate students’ comprehensive capability of this course.
