To understand electricity and magnetism, electromagnetic waves (light), relativity, quantum physics, and some fields in modern physics.

The class will be mainly lecture-oriented, some experimental demonstrations will be prepared, and a teaching assistant will be available.
1. Homework: Please practice the textbook problems on your own. 2. Exams: There are two mid-term exams and the final exam. Mid-term exams will be held on Friday, 6:30pm - 8:30pm of March 27 and May 8 (or to be announced). The final exam will be held on June 11, Thursday. 3 Grading policy: Two mid-term exams (30%+30%), the final exam (30%), and performance on recitation classes (10%) total 100%.
