Course Description This course is an English course looking at nurses’ role on psychosocial and well-being from different perspective. This course will look into the psychosocial issue from individual’s life span, disease, community and global perspective. Lecturers from abroad are invited to share their expertise in the area of psychosocial and well-being. Students in the course are encouraged to read some academic articles and provide opinion in each lecture. Group discussions with University of Edinburgh are also included in this course which serve as an opportunity for student to demonstrate and digest about what they have learned in this course and have empirical practice of English conversations. In addition, this course allows students to communicate and express their opinions about nurses’ role and issues around psychosocial and well-being. Course Objectives After completing this module, the students should be able to, 1. Describe the different perspectives on nurses’ role. 2. Describe how nurses could impact psychosocial and well-being. 3. Reflect different perspective on psychosocial and well-being. 4. Develop English speaking, writing, listening and reading skills. 5. Develop international partnership and worldview on nursing practice.
