概述

(Approximately 80% of the course content is academic-related) This course is designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and practical techniques required for successful academic presentations. Students will gain practical, hands-on experience across every stage of the presentation process and lifecycle, from initial research and outline development to scriptwriting, argument formation, visual design, audience engagement, and effective Q&A management. Through a combination of weekly discussions, peer reviews, practice sessions, and mandatory rehearsals, students will refine their public speaking abilities and English proficiency, culminating in a polished, professional presentation at the end of the semester to demonstrate their mastery of presentation structure, content, and delivery. By the end of this course, students will be able to: 1. Structure Academic Content: Develop logical, coherent presentation outlines and scripts tailored to specific academic topics. 2. Master Visual Design: Create professional presentation slides with data visualization that effectively support verbal arguments and enhance audience comprehension. 3. Refine Delivery Techniques: Demonstrate command of verbal and non-verbal communication, including pacing, tone, eye contact, and body language. 4. Engage Audiences: Implement active listening and questioning strategies to facilitate productive Q&A sessions. 5. Improve Through Feedback: Utilize weekly practice sessions and rehearsals to critique and improve both content, structure, and delivery, demonstrating measurable progress from drafts to the final presentation. 6. Enhance English Proficiency: Exhibit increased confidence and fluency in English by utilizing academic vocabulary, professional expressions, and formal communication styles during regular classroom interactions and presentations.

Attendance 10% Weekly class participation and discussion 30% Weekly Assignments (outlines, scripts, and slides) and Quizzes (based on the assigned videos and reading materials) 20% Group (or Individual) Rehearsals 20% Final formal presentations 20% *Your grades for rehearsals and the final presentation will be determined by: 1. Analytical Depth: How well you explore one specific professional topic based on one of your other courses. 2. Clarity & Fluency: Your ability to articulate ideas clearly in English. 3. Adherence to Rules: Following time limits (7-10 mins per group), delivery requirements and the specific presentation guidelines offered before rehearsals and the final presentation. 4.
