General knowledge on bacteria, viruses, fungi, and the diseases caused by important microbes. The microbial physiology, control and ecology are also covered. The applied microbiology and company visit are arranged based on the application of microbial properties in product development. The course evaluation includes written exams, reports and class participation. Students will be equipped with the knowledge necessary to pursue further studies and careers in medical microbiology, microbial biotechnology, biomedicine, and industrial R&D, etc.
