概述

This course provides an introductory overview of the multi-disciplinary field of biomedical engineering. Biomedical engineers related to electrical engineering backgrounds need to understand the wide range of topics that are covered in this course, including anatomy and physiology, electrical engineering, biosignal processing and bioinstrumentation, biomechanics, biomaterials science and tissue engineering, radiation imaging medical imaging, and moral and ethical issues. It is intended to facilitate the student’s understanding in all areas of biomedical engineering so that they can appreciate the collaborative nature of the field. Course Goals: 1. Explore the introduction to and overview of the field of biomedical engineering. 2. Understand the wide range of topics in biomedical engineering.

先修科目

This course is primarily intended for engineering students who have completed courses in differential equations and basic statics. Sophomore or junior students with this background should be well prepared to enroll. Students in the biological sciences, including those in medicine and nursing, may also be able to follow the material, provided they have adequate mathematical training. Applicants who have completed foundational courses in physics, chemistry, or biology by their sophomore year are preferred. Basic proficiency in English is also required.
