概述

Computer graphics is the field of visual computing, where one utilizes computers to synthesize visual images realistically or in specific styles. It is a basis of 3D computer game, computer animation, virtual reality, and digital visual effects. This course will introduce fundamental algorithms and techniques in computer graphics (especially in 3D graphics). [Intended learning Outcomes] On completion of this ICG course, a student will be able to: * Describes the fundamental concept of a computer graphics system. * Explain how an image is synthesized by a graphics system. * Apply graphics algorithms for image and animation synthesis through graphics programming language GLSL. * Compare classic graphics algorithms and assess their advantages and limitations.

* Graphics programming homework (such as OpenGL/GLSL) x 2~4 * Graphics programming project * Exams Note 1: Students taking this course should possess adequate programming and debugging skills. Note 2: We recommend that students use Windows to perform OpenGL/GLSL samples provided by TAs. (We have instructions about environment setup on MacOS, but we cannot guarantee that it will always work, because Apple claimed they deprecated OpenGL after macOS 10.14 and provided Metal API instead.)
