The course’s emphasis is on orbital interactions in structure and reactivity. It will occasionally refer to Stereoelectronic Effects, Wiley, 2016. The whole course will be taught using the materials prepared by the teacher while referring to the text book.
The course covers organic structure, bonding and mechanisms. It will be taught along the text book Advanced Organic Chemistry, F. A. Carey and R. J. Sundberg 4th Edition, 2000, Part A, but its 5th Edition, 2007 will also be used where appropriate.

There will be occasional exercises to the confirm students’ understanding, which will be counted as attendance. The final score will be the sum of the scores of the mid-term and final exams plus the exercises.
