Physics is ubiquitous in nature and technology. This two-semester course provides students with the fundamental concepts and principles of physics. Physics (I) covers classical mechanics, oscillations, mechanical waves, and thermodynamics, while Physics (II) focuses on electromagnetism, optics, and modern physics. Through this course, students will not only develop the ability to solve physics-related problems but also gain a broader perspective of the subject, enabling them to appreciate the beauty and coherence of physics.
There will be four exams in this course. Exams and homework instruction sessions are scheduled on Fridays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (not every week). Please make sure you are available to attend all exams and homework instruction sessions before enrolling in this course.

1. Homework: *No specific assignments will be given, and homework submission is not required. Please practice the textbook problems on your own. * Participate in Physics Recitation (I) for homework instruction and credit. 2. Exams: *There are 4 exams and they will be held on Friday 6:30pm - 8:30pm (or to be announced). *The content of the exams will base on textbook problems, supplemented by related lecture material where appropriate. 3. Grading policy: *Exams (4 total): Best 3 exams = 75% of final grade Lowest exam = 15% of final grade Homework = 10% of final grade Total = 100% *Extra Credit: Up to 3 additional points may be awarded based on class participation. Further details regarding exam format and policies will be discussed in the first lecture.
