概述

This course aims to introduce students to some famous or classic Taiwanese dishes. By watching cooking shows before class and practicing language terms during class, students can improve their mastery of new vocabulary and sentence patterns. They can apply them in oral expression. Since this course focuses on listening and speaking, it will enhance students’ understanding of Taiwanese cuisine and improve their language skills. By the end of the semester, students are expected to: 1. Students will be able to identify and explain a variety of cooking techniques commonly featured in the food program videos viewed throughout the semester. 2. Students will be able to identify and discuss a wide range of dish names and ingredients in Chinese. 3. Students will be able to understand and summarize the main ideas and key points presented in food program videos. 4. Students will be able to introduce and recommend a dish in Chinese, including how it is prepared and why they like it. 5. Students will be able to clearly describe in Chinese the ingredients needed for a dish, as well as its taste, texture, and unique characteristics.
