This course explores how intelligent agents plan: formulate problems, search for actions, and learn strategies. The selected topics cover classic and modern techniques, from foundational search, Monte Carlo tree search, classical planning, MDPs, and reinforcement learning to AlphaZero, MuZero, world models, agentic AI, and LLM reasoning with search. Through lectures, assignments, presentations, and a practical project, students will learn to design and implement intelligent AI systems that use search and planning.
Algorithms, data structures, and basic programming skills.
