Chain Dimensions, Structures
Chapter 2 deals with physical and molecular aspects of polymers, that is, those relating to molecular shape and size, distinctive characteristics, conformational and configurational behavior, structural features, morphology, thermal transitional phenomena, and relaxation properties.

Chapter 3 discusses polymer solution behavior, the emphasis being on thermodynamics, phase equilibriat, solubility, swelling, frictional properties, and viscosity.

Condensation polymerization reactions are characterized as to their kinetic and thermodynamic features, their scope and utility for the synthesis of different types of polymer structures. Emphasis is placed on the chapter on understanding the reaction parameters which are important in controlling polymerization rate, degree of polymerization, and structure features.

Chain Copolymerization focusing on copolymerization reaction, mechanisms and kinetics with chapter 6. Copolymerization that may inivolve its great practical importance and considerable theoretical development that has tacken place in this field, has been accored the space of one full chapter. Emphasis is placed on the chapter on understanding the reaction parameters which are important in controlling polymerization rate, degree of polymerization, and structure features such as branching and crossilinking.

Ionic Chain polymerization
In this chapter ,we will discuss pure Ionic polymerizations- first, anionic polymerizations with some of their specific applications and then the polymerization processes which proceed by a cationic mechanism.Coordination polymerizations that are complex polymerizations having partial ionic character and ring opening polymerizations.
